What compounded means

A licensed pharmacy prepares a medication for an identified patient under a prescription. Compounded medicines do not go through FDA premarket approval.

Why providers offer them

Providers may offer different dosage forms or combinations that are not commercially available as approved products. That does not prove the custom product is safer or more effective.
